Aha! I did it! Pretty proud of myself!
So, here’s Eric:

Moise: Couldn’t get a photo of him, but if you use your imagination, you’ll see him at the top of a ladder somewhere, hammering something.
Inside the little grandkid’s room above the garage:
View of the Homestead Oak from inside kid room. Maybe this will be MINE instead. Great practice room!

Okay, now scroll down to read today’s earlier post, without illustrations.
Starting a new garden in an area that has never been tilled is a difficult thing to do. The biggest mistake we made when we first put in a garden on our new farm was to make the garden way too large. At least twice the size needed if not more than that.
The best thing we did was to hire a neighbor to till it up with his large tiller behind his tractor. Soil that hasn’t ever been turned is like rock in this area. The soil will not be fertile at first too. What I would do is to stake out the garden with easy access to water and sun then have a truck load of a soil mix of manure and the best soil brought in from a local nursery. Spread that soil mixture on your designed garden area and then have it tilled by a tractor until it’s totally worked up. A common mistake also is to till a garden when it is too wet. This creates clods that are hard to beak up for a long time.
Have a great time my friends
Love the pictures! Waiting for one of Larry with his tractor !
I like the names that surface for local bars. Just back from Riverside, WY (pop. 52) where the “Bear Trap Bar” has Wednesday hamburger specials for $7.00, one of which is the Jack Daniels burger. Have to try the $5 cheeseburger at the Longbranch on some visit. Sounds promising.
