Meet Jane Viehl
A storyteller at heart, Jane calls the rugged 100 acres in Oregon’s Willamette Valley home. Proud to be one of Oregon’s contemporary fiction authors, Jane draws from the mistakes and hard-won experiences of farm life and country living to create rich stories. Her stories masterfully capture the intricate relationships between people, land, and history, weaving them into unforgettable tales.
Though an author with an MFA in writing, Jane’s work extends beyond the pages of her books. Through her partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, she brings stories to life and infuses nature, giving voice to the wild and the people who protect it.
When she’s not writing or working on her country living blog, you’ll find her in her garden, tending to her flock of chickens, reading, or playing the banjo just for fun.
